A friend from home visited recently and stayed at the Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana which gave me the opportunity to check out their beach club.

The hotel is tucked away along at the end of the West Corniche Road, beyond Etihad Towers and opposite the Emirates Palace. The hotel gets a great name for families on Tripadvisor, so as my friend was coming with her two kids in tow it was ideal.

The pool is large (it's actually one of the largest in Abu Dhabi) and as well as having a shallow kids area within the main pool, there's also a separate kids pool under cover of shade.

Beach

The sandy 200 metre beach is impressive and leads down into the lagoon, meaning the waters are calm and clear.

It's an interesting spot, and although it is very popular with families and gets very busy on weekends and holidays, the beach area still manages to maintain an air of calm. Being right on the end of the island too, the outlook of the hotel makes for some amazing sunset watching!

Amazing sky!

Amazing sunset sky views!

The beach club is open to the public, either on day passes or through full memberships. Temporary memberships are also available on a week by week basis.
